The Richmond Urban Harvest Community

The Richmond Urban Harvest Community

A community for learning, growing, and thriving together.

This initiative will provide increased  access, opportunity, education and connection for locals who are interested in growing and gardening. Burnley Backyard will the main hub for these activities.

Whether you’ve been gardening for decades or are just starting your journey, our community offers a space to learn, share, and connect. With the guidance of experienced members,  and the fresh energy of new participants, we explore everything from soil health and composting to preserving harvests and improving health through fresh, homegrown food.

By coming together, we not only grow food—we grow community, sustainability, and a thriving future for all. Join us as we cultivate abundance, resilience, and friendships—one seed at a time.

The group will meet on the first Saturday of each month, between 10 and 12 at Burnley Backyard. There will be other session times starting soon. Chrystal Carter, is our new Volunteer who will be coordinating the activities of the Richmond Urban Harvest Community. Chrystal has a wealth of experience and is really passionate about community and gardening and bringing the two together.

No prior experience is necessary, just an interest in learning and sharing the joy of gardening with others. A perfect opportunity for locals who have no garden space of their own.
